Areolar Sparing Reconstruction

This patient developed right breast cancer. She underwent bilateral areolar-sparing mastectomies via small horizontal incisions that removed only the projecting part of her nipple for cancer reasons. Dr. Geiger performed immediate subpectoral (below the muscle) reconstruction with highly cohesive (gummy bear) shaped silicone implants (Natrelle style 410 MF 335cc) giving her a very nice shape and fuller appearance. Her remaining areolar tissue allows her to feel whole again without worrying about a nipple protruding through her clothing.
