This patient developed right breast cancer. She underwent bilateral areolar-sparing mastectomies via small horizontal incisions that removed only the projecting part of her nipple for cancer reasons and patient desires. Dr. Geiger performed immediate prepectoral (above the muscle) reconstruction with highly cohesive (gummy bear) smooth round silicone implants giving her a very nice shape and fuller appearance. Her remaining areolar tissue allows her to feel whole again without worrying about a nipple protruding through her clothing. She has added oncologic (cancer) benefit of no remaining ductal tissue to further decrease recurrence risks. Here she is 6 months after chemotherapy and radiation to the right breast.
