This patient initially had left breast cancer in the 1990’s treated with a lumpectomy and radiation. She developed a new breast cancer in 2012 that was treated with double mastectomies and implant based reconstruction. Given her prior radiation to the left breast, a latissimus flap was used from her back to transfer non-radiated tissue to the left chest to safely initiate reconstruction. She was unhappy with the more ball-like right breast, and wide, differently shaped left breast. Dr. Geiger peformed a revision of her reconstruction including modifications to her flap, pockets, implants, and scar tissue to achieve a much more balanced result.
