Skin Cancer Reconstruction: Lower Lip
This patient developed a squamous cell carcinoma of his lower lip. This was excised by a Mohs Dermatologic surgeon in 7 sessions for a resultant 5-6cm wide by 2cm thick mucosal defect. This was resurfaced using a mucosal advancement flap from the tissue on the inside of his mouth. His final outcome is excellent with a normal lip contour and scars well hidden along natural transition zones.
