Wise Pattern Reconstruction

This patient developed right breast cancer. She underwent double mastectomies through breast reduction-type incisions (Wise Pattern) to remove excess skin and allow better reshaping of the breasts. Dr. Geiger placed tissue expanders under the muscle and supported them with her own excess breast skin (inferior autoderm technique). She developed recurrent fluid collections and wounds on the left side requiring conversion to a latissimus muscle reconstruction. Ultimately she underwent exchange to smooth round silicone implants for an excellent outcome giving her both a reduction and a breast lift in addition to treatment of her breast cancer.
