Wise Pattern Reconstruction

This patient had a history of bilateral subpectoral breast augmentation. She developed left breast cancer. She underwent double mastectomies through breast reduction-type incisions (Wise Pattern) to remove excess skin and allow better reshaping of the breasts. Dr. Geiger removed her prior ruptured silicone implants and capsules. He then placed tissue expanders under the muscle and supported them with her own excess breast skin (inferior autoderm technique). She completed the expansion phase and subsequently underwent exchange to smooth round silicone implants for an excellent outcome giving her both a reduction and a breast lift. She is shown here with her nipple reconstruction performed in the office and has since undergone tattooing to complete her reconstruction.
