Bilateral Skin Sparing Mastectomies, Total Submuscular Expander to Smooth Round Silicone Reconstruction.

This patient developed bilateral breast cancers. She underwent double mastectomies via horizontal ellipses. Her reconstruction was delayed for poor blood flow at the time of her cancer operation. Approximately 1 month later she underwent revision of her mastectomy skin and placement of tissue expanders underneath her muscles to start reconstruction. She suffered from recurrent fluid collections (seromas) requiring multiple drainage procedures. Ultimately she completed expansion and she was exchanged to highly cohesive (gummy bear) smooth round silicone implants (SCX 800cc). Fat grafting and additional skin tightening are planned in the future to enhance her results.
