Head & Neck
This patient developed a 2.5cm x 2.2cm melanoma in situ of his forehead (brown area surrounded by dots). This was resected with 5mm margins leaving a 3.5cm x 3.2cm defect. Once resection margins were confirmed clear, Dr. Geiger closed this large central forehead defect using a combination of rapid intraop subfrontalis tissue expansion and tissue advancement. A glabellar flap was utilized to keep his inner eyebrow distance normal in appearance. Here is is 4 months later with good brow function and an excellent cosmetic result.
